Head Teacher's Welcome

Forge Wood Primary School opened in 2016 and is now a full and oversubscribed two form entry primary school. We are extremely proud of our Outstanding achievements and strive to sustain this every day for all our families.

All staff and leaders at Forge Wood embrace the vision for all to Aspire, Explore and Achieve. It is at the heart of what we do.

The reason for this is that the children at Forge Wood, deserve the very best of education to give them opportunities for success in the future.

Aspire:

This comes from all adults having the highest expectations of every child. Delivered through quality first teaching and access to an ambitious curriculum.Focusing on the basic skills through our Oracy strategy, enabling all children a gateway to social mobility and future success regardless of background or experience.

Explore:

All children and staff at Forge Wood have a shared sense of identity, whilst celebrating individual diversity within our school. This is underpinned by our school values, embedded throughout the school with children and adults talking and demonstrating the values of Respect, Responsibility, Reflective, Resilience and Risk Taking. The deliberate curriculum choices ensure that all children experience a broad curriculum and enriching   opportunities to nurture their skills and talents that the children need to develop, understand and apply at all stages of their school life and beyond.

Achieve:

Our motivation for Forge Wood children to get the best start in life is based on the aspiration and ambition that we have for them to succeed. School leaders building a culture of success, a sense of self belief through opening doors and opportunities to what is possible. Our ambition is delivered through our aspirational curriculum, relentless focus on the oracy, reading and maths skills so that all children are ready for the next phase of their education. Our offer is broad and rich in opportunity, with children applying for roles of leadership e.g. school council and house captains, to live shared experiences that are outside their everyday life. That if they have a can-do attitude and ambition, they can and will achieve success.

We would encourage you to view our website to find out more about our ambitious curriculum, our admissions policy and a wealth of other information about our school.

We hold open events in the Autumn term and would welcome you to visit us and find out even more.
