GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

PE

We inspire all children to develop a life-long love for health and wellbeing, physical activity and exercise. Our Physical Education curriculum teaches all children to look after their bodies, by mirroring and further enhancing the whole school focus on healthy living, physical activity and positive mental health. Our children engage in high quality, active, engaging and challenging PE sessions which encourages skill progression. In line with our whole school values, our PE curriculum nurtures and develops skills which all children can apply in other lessons and in other areas of their lives. Despite potential barriers to participation, all of our children are offered a broad range of extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities, which allows them to experience activity in different contexts and promote life-long habits.  We provide worthwhile opportunities for all our children to participate and compete in different environments and flourish in all areas of their lives.

Our ambition for all children is that they are inspired to challenge themselves from the beginning of early years to the end of year 6. Throughout their time at Forge Wood the children skills and knowledge will be nurtured at each step of their journey through the school enabling them to achieve. Adults will nurture the knowledge through exploration and practice, As the children travel through each phase at Forge Wood, they will be developing their passion and thirst for learning and be prepared for the next stage of their journey
